Chapter One
The little scrap of paper with Dimitri’s phone number on it was my most prized possession. For weeks, I agonized over calling it. I would have pretend conversations with him as I gazed at it, but I could never bring myself to actually dial the numbers. Instead, I just kept the paper carefully folded in the pocket of whatever clothes I was wearing and throughout the day I would touch it just to make sure it was still there. It was pathetic, and yet I couldn’t stop myself from doing it.
At night I would touch my fingers to my pussy, gently masturbating while I thought about that wonderful night we’d spent together. The more time passed, the more it seemed like a dream instead of something that had actually happened to me, and I realized the chances of having something so magical happen again were nearly impossible. After all, I’d been pursued and seduced by the hottest star in Hollywood, Dimitri Morrison! He made me feel beautiful, sexy, and desirable; and then we made love all night long right here in my very own bed. It was a wonderful memory that I would cherish forever, along with the dried rose, the card, and now his number.
“Just fucking call him already!” Shawnee would holler at me when she caught me gazing at it. “He’s hot and you said he was a terrific lay. It’s obvious he wants to see you again or he wouldn’t have given you his private number.”
“Guys always give out their number just to be polite, but then when you call them they’re not really interested. I don’t need to put myself through that kind of humiliation,” I replied. I was trying to sound tough like I didn’t care, but really my hesitation was coming from a place of pain and fear.
The situation with Dimitri reminded me too much of my first high school boyfriend. We met when I was a freshman and he was a junior Tyler Stamos was his name. He was a forward on the varsity basketball team, good-looking with clear skin and shaggy brown hair. He would wink at me whenever we passed in the halls and my knees would tremble. I would have done anything to have a guy like that for my boyfriend, but I knew he’d never even notice a girl like me. I was shy, big-boned, and always dressed in my sister’s hand-me-downs. I knew it was a foolish dream to even think he could like me. Then everything changed in an instant.
“Check out the tits on that one! Too bad her ass is so wide!” one of the jerks on the basketball team had laughed at me as Tyler and his buddies passed by in the cafeteria.
“Shut up! She’s nice; I like her.”
Tyler had shoved the boy and instantly my heart melted. Not only had he defended me, but he actually said he liked me. After that I developed an even bigger crush on Tyler, mooning over him in the halls for the rest of the semester and always trying to sit near him on the bus.
The next year, when I was a sophomore and he was a senior, we actually ended up in the same math class together. We would flirt from across the room at each other, making jokes and casual innuendos, and then one day he passed me a note.
Will you go to the Homecoming dance with me?
I was so excited I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t eat, concentrate on my homework, or sleep for the next two weeks until the night of the dance. My older sister Angela had given me her old prom dress and my younger sister Alexis helped me alter it to look like new. The teal fabric fit my body to perfection. I used some of my babysitting money to buy my first pair of high-heels, and although I wasn’t very steady in them, they made me feel grown up and sophisticated. When Tyler pulled up in front of our crowded little house and picked me up in his father’s Mustang, I felt like Cinderella going to the ball. Only, we didn’t go to the dance, he drove us up the winding road to the plateau known as Overlook Point.
“You’re so pretty. I really like you a lot,” Tyler had whispered to me as he stroked my hair and then pulled my face closer to his for a kiss. It was awkward, but new and incredibly thrilling. My heart was pounding in my chest so loudly I was surprised he couldn’t hear it over the music blaring from the car radio.
As we continued to kiss, he moved quickly to groping my body with impatient hands. Some of it felt good, but some of it didn’t. Still, I was too afraid to complain or ask him to stop. Not too many sophomores got the chance to go out with a senior to the Homecoming dance, especially not with one as popular and good-looking as Tyler. I didn’t want him to think I was immature, prudish, or that I didn’t know what I was doing. So, despite my discomfort, I let him keep going.
Soon, he had me lying back across the reclined seat, and was crushing me with his heavy body while he ground his erection against my thigh, dry humping me through our clothes. When his hands moved up underneath my dress and he started to yank off my panties, I gasped with surprise. I wanted to tell him that things were moving way too fast for me, but he was smothering me with his mouth and I could hardly breathe, let alone ask him to stop.
He pulled open the zipper of the cheap suit he had rented, revealing his erection. It was the first one I had ever seen and it startled me. I had no idea how big they could get. Growing up in a household with nine sisters, I had never been exposed to anything like it. Curious, I reach out to touch it just to see what it felt like and Tyler groaned with pleasure and fondled my breasts with clumsy hands. He covered my mouth with his again, spread my legs apart, and forced his way into my virgin folds. I wasn’t properly aroused or lubricated and his dick ripped through my tender flesh like a knife, making me scream out in pain. Tyler mistook my cries of agony for those of passion and moaned in my ear, “Yeah baby, you feel so good!”
Fortunately, it didn’t last long and within a few strokes he was done. I turned my head to hide my tears, too young and naïve to realize that I’d just been date-raped and that I had every right to be upset or angry.
“Shit! You’re kind of bleeding.” Tyler cried out when he saw the blood from my pierced hymen on the front seat of the car and staining my beautiful teal dress that I’d been so proud of.
I shook my head and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand, smearing my mascara in long black streaks. Turning to him with a pretend smile I said, “It was first time.”
“You were a virgin? No wonder you were so stiff. Fucking awesome! I got a virgin!”
Tyler congratulated himself obnoxiously on his conquest without showing any concern for me whatsoever. Then he reached in the backseat of the car, grabbed a t-shirt he’d tossed back there and threw it at me. “Clean that shit up. My dad will kill me if we ruin the interior of his car. You’re dress is fucking trashed. No way can we go to the dance with you looking like Carrie. I’ll take you home.”
“I’m sorry I ruined our date,” I had actually apologized to the bastard. He’d violated me and yet somehow he managed to make feel like the one who had done something wrong.
“No problem, we’ll go out next weekend,” Tyler offered as a consolation prize. He dropped me off at the end of my block so no one would see that I’d come home early and covered in blood, and I snuck into the back door of our house. I took a long hot shower, trying to wash away the humiliation and then threw the dress in the garbage, burying it deep beneath everything else. In my room, I’d gazed at myself in the mirror before getting dressed. Dark purple bruises marked my thighs where he’d forced them apart, and marked my arms where he’d pinned me down as he forced his way into me. My breasts
were tender from being manhandled and every step I took sent pain radiating through me. I felt ashamed and dirty, but another feeling crept in their too.
I was a woman now. No longer a virgin or a child. I’d made love with the most popular player on the varsity basketball team. He said that he really liked me and even though we had to cancel going to the dance, he wanted to take me out again next weekend. I had a boyfriend now and beamed with happiness that I’d finally been accepted into high school society’s elite.
Even though the dance I’d been dreaming of had turned into a nightmare, that didn’t stop me from daydreaming about our next date and building it up into something wonderful in my mind. Of course, it never came. Every time I talked to Tyler about going out, he was too busy. He had a game, or a practice, or homework, or chores.
“I can’t. I’m grounded for taking my father’s car without permission,” Tyler shrugged his shoulders with an air of indifference when I confronted him at his locker for the hundredth time. I’d been trying to get his attention in math class all period long, but for some reason he’d been pretending not to notice me.
It was weird, because all the other guys on the basketball team were constantly giving me their attention, coming up to me in the cafeteria and grabbing my ass.
“I hear you’re a great date. Want to out to Overlook Point on Friday?”
“I can’t. Tyler and I are going out,” I’d apologize with a smile and they’d laugh like cackling hyenas as they tromped down the halls scanning for other girls to harass.
“What do you mean you were grounded for driving your father’s car?” I snapped at Tyler. After a month of being brushed off, I was tired of taking his bullshit. “You told me you had basketball practice every night this week and that’s why we couldn’t go out. Your father would have given you permission for that. If you got in trouble for taking his car you must have been doing something else, right?”
“So, the guys and I went out for pizza after the practice. Running up and down the court is hard work and we get hungry.”
“Alexis told me she saw you at the Gino’s Pizza with Sarah Hunt and I didn’t believe her! You weren’t out with the guys from the team! You were on a date with Sarah!”
“So fucking what? You’re not my mother or my girlfriend. I can go out with whoever I want.”
“I thought you liked me. I thought you wanted to be my boyfriend!”
Tears sprang to my eyes and much as I tried to hold them back, I couldn’t.
“Why would I want to go through the trouble of dating you when I already tapped that ass? You were a fine lay for a virgin, but not great enough to waste my time taking you out for pizza. Now Sarah, she knows how to fuck and she’d got a smoking hot body. Sorry, you lose. I told the guys in the locker room about you though and plenty of them are hard up for a date. Go out with one of them.”
Devastated, I ran down the hallway and into the girl’s bathroom, sobbing so hard I started to wretch. I didn’t come out until the final bell had rung and I knew everyone had gone home for the day. Too humiliated to ride the bus home, I walked back to my house. The long, lonely journey gave me time to calm myself down and reflect on everything that had happened. That was when I understood the cruel lesson that real life doesn’t always measure up to our fantasies. If I had contented myself to daydreaming about Tyler, I would have been happy. The moment I pursued him and tried to turn the fantasy of him loving me into a real-life relationship, he broke my heart and crushed my dreams. The little note I held so precious from Dimitri held too many similarities to that first note from Tyler, only this time I was wise enough to know better than to think he meant it.
It had been nearly a month since that night Dimitri and I made love and he hadn’t come to the BBW Club since. If he had really wanted to see me again, he knew right where to find me. He’d given me his number as a polite way to say goodbye, but that didn’t mean he really wanted me to call. I’d learned my lesson the hard way and I had no desire to repeat it. Guys like Dimitri Morrison didn’t date girls like me; even though he said I was beautiful and sexy, I knew I just wasn’t the kind of girl he could be seen with. I was the kind of girl he could have a one-night-stand with, but that was all. I’d had my night of ecstasy with him and I resigned myself to the fact that was all there would ever be between us. Crinkling the paper with his number on it into a tight little ball, I tossed it into the trash and decided to forget all about him.
Chapter Two
“Hurry up, or we’ll be late!” Shawnee hollered at me through my bedroom door. She was dressed in a bright yellow halter dress that showed off her rich mocha skin and highlighted her voluptuous figure in all the right ways. Her curly black hair hung loose to her waist, and was held back by headband the same shade of sunshine-yellow as her dress. Matching five-inch heels completed the outfit, and she tapped her foot impatiently on the peeling linoleum floor as she waited for me.
“Come on! If we’re late for work, I’m telling Jay it’s your fault!”
“I’m coming!” I called back. Quickly, I gave myself a final glance in the mirror and smiled at the results. My denim Daisy Duke shorts hugged my ass like a second skin, and showed off my long, tan legs. My red tank top highlighted my ample breasts, complimented by matching red wedge sandals, and the outfit was completed with red beaded jewelry in a cute bohemian style. My blonde hair was pulled back into a ponytail to keep it off my neck in a futile attempt to stay cool in the hot summer night air.
“Come on already!” Shawnee griped just as I exited my room and we left our apartment together, locking the door securely behind us.
“What’s the rush tonight?” I asked as we climbed into Shawnee’s beat up Honda and headed for the boulevard. She was usually the one who couldn’t get out the door on time, so I knew if she was in a hurry to get to the BBW Club there must be something special happening.
“Clarice says there’s a huge crowd at the club tonight. A bunch of hot shots showed up an hour ago and started really throwing the money around, bringing in more people from off the streets than usual. We should be able to draw in some excellent tips tonight.”
“Thank God!” I sighed. Since that one night when Dimitri tipped me with hundred dollar bills, my usual take seemed disappointingly low. I knew logically that it was just a matter of perspective and my nightly tips were averaging the same for me, but it was hard not to feel disappointed to find one dollar bills in my G-string after getting hundreds. Maybe I was just getting tired of stripping. The amount of money I made from it used to seem like a fortune, but now it almost didn’t seem worth it to me anymore. If only I could get my big break acting I wouldn’t have to do this crap, but after two years of rejection I was really beginning to lose faith that would ever happen.
Shawnee’s car took us the few short blocks to the BBW Club and we both gasped at the huge crowd that was lined up out the door.
“Holy shit!”
Shawnee grinned and we exchanged a quick high-five as we parked in the back lot. We let ourselves in the back entrance designated for employees and for the first time in a long time, I felt excited about going out on the stage.
“What’s with the crowd out there?” Shawnee asked Pepper, a redheaded dancer who was just coming off stage. Her skimpy G-string was stuffed with money and her eyes were sparkling.
“Some movie crew was working down the street and when filming wrapped up for the day, they came here for some drinks and to unwind. Word got out on the street that a celebrity was in here and suddenly everyone came flooding in from off the streets. Now it’s standing room only,” Pepper breathed, sounding excited.
“A movie crew? This is your shot kid! Maybe you can impress them with your dancing abilities and get a part as an extra!” Shawnee said as I teased up my hair and applied a liberal amount of spray to keep it in place.
“No thanks. I’m done being an extra standing in the background, not getting any lines, and not making any money. When I finally get hired as an actress, I w
ant a real role.”
“Well, now’s your chance to shine and make an impression.” Shawnee encouraged me. She had no idea how hard it was trying to make it as an actress. She went to beauty school during the day and was studying to be a hairdresser, but maybe she was right. Maybe this was my chance to be seen by someone in Hollywood who was looking for an actress just like me. I decided to go out there and give my routine everything I had. Besides, with a crowd this big I was sure to make excellent tips and I might even be able to gain some new regular fans.
I heard Jay announcing me to the cheering crowd, “Please give a warm BWW welcome to our own seductress of the stage, Reba!”
With a huge smile on my face, I spread my arms out in a welcoming gesture and strode out onto the stage with exaggerated sways of my hips. I was dressed in a dazzling tear-away dress made of shimmering silver sequins that made my body sparkle in the stage lights like one of the stars of old. I looked glamorous and sinfully sexy. The music blared over the shouts of the crowd as I began my sultry routine, sliding my hands over my body and showing just a flash of breast before ripping the garment away and covering myself with only my hands.
The crowd shouted and hollered as I played a titillating game of peak-a-boo with my breasts before revealing them in their full naked glory. One voice carried over all the others and I strained to recognize it, peering into the crowd. When I suddenly identified the source of the voice, my eyes flew open wide and I gasped with surprise. Dimitri Morrison was standing in the crowd, surrounded by members of his movie crew and fans from the street. He looked incredibly handsome in a dark gray suit, blue tie, and old style fedora. Dark shades covered his eyes, but it was definitely him. He waved to get my attention and shouted out my name.
“Avery! Why didn’t you call me? Avery! I need to talk to you!”
My cheeks turned red with embarrassment and I struggled to remember the practiced steps of my routine. He was making such a huge scene, calling me out by name without even using my stage name to protect my identity, and ruining the illusion I was trying to create with the crowd. I had to do something to get him to stop!
